Portable sound recorder overview chart (sticky this?)
« on: December 31, 2008, 04:21:27 PM »
This is probably the most comprehensive chart I have found...

1. Sweetwater comparison chart - US based

2. Wingfield Audio comparison chart - US based & has audio examples from each recorder.

3. Transom tools column - US Based

Some more thanks to sunjan...

5. Liberman Sound - US based

6. Corporate Talk Radio - US based

7. O'Reilly Media - US based

Here's screen-captures of the pages, 2008-01-01, for offline reference. The file-sizes were too big to upload as attachments. The couple free image-hosts I tried resized the images or diminished the quality, making the text more difficult to read.  So these are download links to the unscaled and 'clearer' image files, not direct links to the images themselves.

Thanks!  Not in the market, but it's still nice to have a bunch of them lined up to compare.

Here's another chart listing specifications for many small recorders.
The chart was updated in November 2008.

nothing about the higher end units such as sonosax and nagra.  4 channel options are quite limited...
