I think mine is broken....

Ive had it plugged in to charge for 2 days and its still not full, thats not right I'm assuming. take it back to walmart?

Yup its broke, take it back get another one.  Was a 7.2 volt one tho, but same idea... The one I had got really hot tho and that was another good indicator that it was hosed...

yeah...except there is no hacking the cable since you are using the adaptaplugs.

here's how i did mine...rather unscientifically:  ;)

take the adaptaplug cable and fold it in half so the two striped cables are adjacent/touching and with both adaptaplug "ends" pointing up.

then put the "M" adapta plug on one side, and the "B" adaptaplug on the other side so both connectors are facing you. (you should be looking into to small circles at this point)

(NOTE...the positive side on the "B" should be the negative on the "M" plug...or vice versa...shouldnt matter...just make sure both striped cable halves are touching)

plug the B plug into the battery out....test for continuity...or just plug the M plug into the ua-5 and see if it works...

if all is well than charge the battery up to full and you are golden, pony boy

disclaimer...I am NOT responsible if you f*ck up and sizzzle your gear!

Fuses?

Could doing this potentially fuck up my new UA-5.  Cause if so I might shy away (i tend to fuck lots of stuff up)...

in the end, my concerns over needing parallel power for hot swapping are laughable. ive had my m-100fx plugged in and running for almost 8 hours now and i still have about half a battery left  :o pretty fuckin sweet! i know this probably isnt an acurate representation of battery usage because phantom power and modifying levels and eq's and such, but it certainly is a confidence builder.

my mics come tommorow and then my rig is complete :-D thanks with all your help in the building process guys, ill post some samples once i start pullin my own tapes.  :)

I recently bought an Oade 9v battery pack used.  I've found that the "B" plug does NOT fit the output, the Inner Diameter of the plug is not large enough to fit around the battery's output pin.  I had this occur with another generic 9v battery and I broke that battery figuring out the plug didn't fit right...

I'll try and figure out what the new plug is sometime this week, but work has got me swamped and its not a high priority right now...

according to edirol, m-100 uses the same adapter as ua-5, so yes the polarity should be the same.

when in doubt check the device itself............somewhere near the actual power jack it should list the voltage requirement and polarity (and sometimes the draw)

a la UA5 :   DC in 9V - voltage
                450 mA - draw
              polarity diagram shows outside positive inside negative

most electronics devices have something like this...
Line Audio CM3/OM1 || MBHO KA500 hyper>PFA|| ADK A51 type IV || AKG C522XY
Oade Warm Mod and Presence+ Mod UA5s || Aerco MP2(needs help) || Neve Portico 5012 || Apogee MMP
SD Mixpre6 || Oade Concert Mod DR100mkii

pocket sized - CA11 cards > SP SB10 > Sony PCM A10
