Nice bars Noah!  I think that I'm going to pick up the newest bar that you posted for my mk22's & mk4V's.

Nice bars Noah!  I think that I'm going to pick up the newest bar that you posted for my mk22's & mk4V's.

That bar was designed for the mk41v but would likely work with the 4v as well.

I'm going to run mk22 and mk41v pairs on that bar along with a mk4v/mk8 M/S rig on Sunday at Phish

The bars that Scott is creating are truly awesome. I currently have him working on a Kangol mount that looks like it is going to be pretty cool.

X/Y or M/S for Schoeps vertical capsules.

The M/S clip looks really cool.  Do you know the size of the clips for nBobs?  I use two AKG M90 active cables with CK94 figure 8 caps for MS/Blumline.  They look very similar, and have a 12mm clip.  Would this fit?  or do you do custom orders to make one that does?

Also, are those just small clips back to back with 20mm clip, then just a 20mm post (three pieces)?  If so, I can see these being used in my double M/S rig where I want to use a back-to-back clip onto the AKG's 19mm body (facing backwards).

Great work,
L

Yes, I saw that you had the bar constructed for mk41v's but it should also be effective for the mk4v's that I run.

It will be interesting to hear the mk4v/mk8 M/S rig in action.  Have a good time this evening!

Could you please remember to post that when it's done? Or if there's a place to buy one now, I'd love a link...

Noah did you decide to run the mk4v/mk8 M/S rig at a future show?

I ran the 4v pair again last night. The bar was heavy enough and I didn't feel like doing an extra clamp and mount for m/s. Sorry

Yes, Scott is sending me his second prototype to review. Once we have it finalized I will let everyone know.

Thanks Noah!  I understand completely.  Do you have any recordings posted using your mk4v/mk8 M/S rig?  I'd love to hear how that setup sounds.

Here's the [3] SRS 4 Channel Mounts that I have too! I HIGHLY recommend these to ANYONE who wants to run 2+ Channels and do it very lightweight ;) ALL of my capsules are VERTICALLY ALIGNED, and because of that, I can easily mix the multi mic configs for a 4 Channel Matrix, IF the tapes came out good enough :)

And Noah, thanks for all of your hard work @MSG ;) ;D

Bean:

I really encourage you to experiment with narrower angles and wider spacings. Your bars are all 110 or 90 degrees, which work great for FOB on on stage, but from the OTS, there's too little direct sound compared with too much reflected sound and crowd noise.

I have a shure a53m shock mount for my Schoeps cmc64s ORTF SRS bar, but it sags and I don't really like it.  What are other good options for attaching the shapeway bars to mic stands?

Rycote INV mounts.  Here's my typical Line Audio setup.

I saw a couple of different Kangol mounts on Scott's Shapeway's store. But I'm a bit confused. They are for MK41V and point backwards. At least, that's what it looks like to me. I have MK4's, but would love to try a mounted set up like Scott has. I'll probably have to contact him, but was wondering if anyone else had any experience with the Kangol mounts and MK4's. Thanks!

I could use some recommendations, please, about which Rycote mount to pair with a SRS ORTF mount for full body schoeps.  https://www.shapeways.com/product/JM6H5M98P/hybrid-schoeps-cmc622?optionId=56179322&li=marketplace

Yes please keep it coming. If you have any pics of your set up I’m happy to share with others. I just turned Laura Hartmann onto this site and she is now as fascinated with this topic as I’ve become. Thank you all. Great info!!

Yes, that's the more solid mount in the right dimensions.  Here's a quick snap of another SRS bar in that mount.  Really no sag or play to speak of.

For those of you that need a reminder..  this is the internet and there are people that are listening, watching, and reading what you post.

This quote was pulled from a "Team Boards" thread:

Did either you or Scooter123 record this from the audience? What table do you guys like?
