What is the voltage requirements?  V3s come in 12v or 6v.

Thanks for the help on that. Not doing too much recording, since 2006, and need to power both the dat and the pre;so you are suggesting the MP3450i. that would cover the 7.5 volt to 12 volt range I need, it looks like.

yes, but you can't power both voltages at the same time with the tekkeon.  What you can do is switch the V3 from 12v to a 6v by changing the jumpers in the unit.  I did it myself and it is real easy.  The v3 set at 6v can be powered by a higher volatge with out damaging the unit (it just makes the unit run physically hotter to the touch).  I run my 6v V3 on 9v all the time.  That way you can run the DAT & V3 at 7.5v with a spliter cable that can be made by yourself, me or any of the other cable makers on TS.com.

Here is the instructions to switch the V3 voltage: http://www.taperssection.com/reference/pdf/Manual_Grace_V3_voltage_calibration.pdf

OK, that sounds like a good plan. Once I change out the V3 to 6v, I could run both devices on 1 battery now at 7.5 noce I have the splitter. Who or where could I get the splitter?
thanks again...Tem

I could make you the splitter I am just not familiar with the power connector for you DAT.  I will PM you and we can talk "off line".

I think the tekkon's are way overpriced.. get a dvd battery from ebay for $10.
