Power conditioners, surge protectors etc....
« on: October 07, 2007, 06:41:56 PM »
I don't have any $$ to spend now, but I'm looking at the pros and cons of power conditioners and surge protectors.

My home viewing is this:

Toshiba 47HL167 Regza LCD flat panel
Toshiba A-30 HD-DVD player
Sony ES receiver

What are folks' opinions on power conditioners and the likes?  I hear mixed reviews, in all levels of tech forums.  Some say yes, some say no.
Socks are overrated.

check the playback forum, there's some good discussion in there on this.

From an audio perspective adding power conditioning was a big bang for little buck. Logically I would think that video would also benefit from clean(er) power.
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia
