+T to all, thanks for the help;)
-
These aren't 75ohm are they? Which raises the question, does that matter?
-
The one that im replacing on my 7-pin has a hole in the spdif, why does it have it? Does that right angle at the top on this thread have a hole? does it matter?
-
RADIO SHAAAAACK
-
Thanks mOK3, for the info and the ticket
-
one from me too :)
-
I went to the shack yesterday and they only had non-right angle spdif and didnt have a hole in it (not sure if it matters or not) its the connection accepts the signal from the minime
-
what do you mean by "have a hole in it"? do you mean "a female end"? i just bought a female > male right angle adapter at radio shack two days ago.
-
ill post a pic in a sec, but try to picture this-> the pin thats coming out (male piece of the coax) and if you were to take a needle and poke it with it then that would be the one one there now. Does anyone else have one like this? or do you have ones without this and still recieve a signal from your pre? my 7-pin has an input coax and output coax
-
ahhh, ok... sounds like you should be fine runnin' the hole!
-
ahhh, ok... sounds like you should be fine runnin' the hole!
you mean running without the hole? the right angle suggestions (switchcraft) doesnt have one. is this ok?
-
the hole is not normal.
-
All in all, as crazy as all this talk is, Kevin, you'll be fine running hole ornot. It doesn't matter.
+T to Mike as always ;)
-
here it is. ;Dsorry for the whack paint job, let me know if I need to post a real pic, (i will soon if yall need it, im unpacking right now)
-
whats do you mean fit where I need it? (i think I know what you mean-> I need it to fit on a minime spdif) ::) oh and +T for the help and putting up with my dumb ass
-
does it fit snugly and completely seated in your s/pdif out?
Thanks for the big T bump!
I had a switchcraft in there (the one im replacing) and it didnt fit snuggly. The reason I need a new one is because i tried to make it fit snuggly and 2 out of the 4 pieces of the rim snapped. But if 2 fit snuggly will it work ok? ( im referring to the outer circle)
-
I broke it with plyers :'( the only thing thats broken is the spdif (2 of the 4 pieces broke -> the cirlce thats divided in 4ths, the outer one. Im sorry I cant really explain it any better, do you know what im talkin about?
-
I broke a monster cable rca end once trying to open it a bit! :angry2:
Cut it off and resolder. I don't know of any other 90* r.a. ends... Good luck
what do you mean (90* r.a end??)
also are you saying to resolder a whole new spdif? or solder the two ends back on? (im assuming a whole new one, but just thought id make sure ::)
-
ok so if I solder the switchcraft RA it will work the same as before right?
-
I called about the connector today and the reason that mine has a hole is because the orginal 3502's had it so people could run the wire up the hole then solder it and let the solder be sucked back down the hole and then cut off the excess solder. Thanks again for all who put up with my bullshit, just wanted to make sure I was getting the right part. ;D

hell yeah
jr
-
i bought one of those rat shack adapters and found it to be a very loose connection. i played around w/ it at home and it dropped the signal w/ very slight movement.
-
well, i will test this out when i get home in a week.
-
hrmm, maybe i should just make the damn AES rt angled connector....hrmmmm....
what wire to use?
-
the switchcraft ra connectors are the way to go. ra cables are very easy to make.
-
"50 Foot Minimum order" WTF??
-
hehe
-
"50 Foot Minimum order" WTF??
I hate there minimums, I tried to get the right angle phono rca gold connector and it was a ten order minimum
-
so your saying even though they have a 10 order minimum they will complete my order of 1??
-
yep, markertek will ship less than their minimum order.
-
this is just me, but i ordered off of them ONCE,in june i might add, and i still havent gotten the order straight.... ;)they have royally pissed me off.... >:(they sent me 4 pin xlr's, instead of 3... :o
-
d'oh!
-
hrmm, maybe i should just make the damn AES rt angled connector....hrmmmm....

well, i ordered some things from them last night, i got 10' of that cable and a few rt angled 3pin xlrs for the AES out and a few rt angled coax's (mouser) also. they have only messed up maybe 1 of my orders out of the last 10 or so i have placed with them.
