star quad XLR cables - help needed
« on: July 28, 2005, 08:01:29 PM »
Trying to figure out how to create these cables. Here are the connectors I have: http://www.neutrik.com/images/ock/downloads/Media_996806503.pdf
The mini star quad cable has 2 white wires and 2 blue wires. How do these relate to the red and blue wires in this document?

Thanks for any help.

Check the TS Knowledge Base > Archive > Cables; then read the very first topic which should answer all your questions.

red/blue, white/blue... doesn't really matter. as long as you're consistant on both sides of the cable.

Yeah, I wasn't able to get the solderless connectors so I'll have some light soldering duties ahead of me  ::)http://www.neutrik.com/images/ock/downloads/Media_1062400258.pdf

The XLRs aren't too bad to solder, and I'm pretty convinced you;d better connection using solder. Now the mini XLRs are a huge PIA to solder. I'm going to make some more of those myself soon and I'm not looking forward to it!
