Thanks to everyone who offered their help / opinions on my Beyer MV-100 problem from last September. As you will all remember, the last time I used the MV-100 I submitted a post because I had both channels drop out in three or four songs late in the show. (It was a stand-up stealth show). Shusss. I know I not supposed to mention that.
I just recorded my first show of the new year last Sunday and the preamp worked flawlessly. No dropouts at all. (This one was a sit down show, so the equipment didn't move around at all in the bag but stayed in one spot on my lap.)
The only thing I can think of was that it was a loose cable (18th inch mini?) which caused both channels to drop out simultaneously. (I wouldn't think that both XLRs would be affected at the same time but I guess anything is possible.)
Oh well, I could always chalk it up to the taping gods not smiling upon me that one day.
Thanks again for everyone's help last Sept, but I think there is life left in the old girl yet. Glad I didn't replace it.
