Stupid V3 Question
« on: January 30, 2013, 11:28:25 PM »
Stupid question, but I don't have time to test, or do any more research...

Am I correct in assuming that both xlr and spdif outs will work at the same time? I want to send the spdif to my dr-680, and the xlr's to an hd-24. Will that fly?

Thanks for your patience :)

Yes, all the outputs are live.

It all works fine.  I've done this many times.  The analog outs XLR are hot.  If you set the gain such that the meters on the HD24 are peaking about -6, the 680 will probably be reading -12.  It will sound fine.  I generally keep an eye on the V3 meters, and my objective is to keep it in the green with only occasional blips on the first red led.

yep the HD24 clips rather easily anyway and it is quite easy to clip it with any outboard preamp.

I believe it's your HD24 I'll be feeding, so an extra thanks for the tip!
