What do you call this headgear with neck shade?
« on: January 22, 2011, 09:01:44 PM »
I'm looking for something similar to what Milan Fras of Laibach is wearing below, but I don't know what to google for.
I guess I could also go for a cap with a neck shade, but I prefer this kind of hood without the visor in front.

some sort of "do-rag" maybe?  Not exactly the same but you might be able to find a wider/longer part hanging off the cap.

Hmm, do-rag, that might be just the word I was looking for.

Found a similar model that is pretty much ideal, with the black netting fabric. Minus the cheesy camo bandana part.  ;D

Looks to be sporting some sort of partial ancient Egyptian costume with Eastern Orthodox acessories.

Thanks for the last link. Hilarious...  ;D

@Timebandit, I'm seeing Laibach in March, I'll look out for their merch.

I googled skull cap and came up with interesting stuff. There are "helmet liners" for hard hats that look very suitable.
I could get one of these and mod it at home...

^^
Important gear.  I had a nice bb sized splatter burn on the side of my neck for years but it's now lost in a sea of evolving middle-age spots.

Welding, now that's a good lead...
This welding skull cape looks pretty much ideal for my purpose, with a bit of headroom too.
I'd just have to dye it in black, or the bouncers would send me off to the madhouse.

Yeah, honestly, interesting idea, but especially if you're indoors, I'd think a dude in something like that might draw more attention than someone with a couple of inches of wires exposed at the back of their head.

Unless you're taping in Egypt or elsewhere in the Middle East of course, where this may be more common.
