Diameter of this bad boy?  Edit, I found that old AKg cataologue which says the C422 was 33mm. C426 prolly close

seems a bit unwieldy and spendy at $79, but it was the first one I saw out of a dozen which looked useful for loud shows/heavy vibrations

$29.95 but looks like it uses a binder clip to adjust the circumference!

You can't beat a Rycote USM. http://mymic.rycote.com/devices/c-426-b/

They're not cheap but they're just about indestructible - no more trying to replace failed elastics on floppy mounts - and give better isolation that any other mount I've tried, including the original AKG mount.

Agreed.

However, although not "cheap" the Rycote mounts do cost a lot less than most manufacturer's mounts and, in almost every case, out-perform them.  :coolguy:

So in addition to the one posted above is this model- the "Lite" version:

Anyone tell what the difference is? Same price $79.
Either way, apparently one of these two is the one to buy for the 426.

It's to do with the weight of the microphone.

The "L" version is normally the better one, but if you want to have the mic. at an angle, rather than vertical, the standard (stiffer) version may be better.
