Mobile Phantom Power Unit
« on: November 21, 2005, 12:25:21 AM »
I've been recording shows for a few months now, always using a mixboard that provides phantom power with Studio Project C4s.  Now i'm helpong some friends of mine to start off a tv show and I would like to use my mics as an audio source.  The only problem is that most of the shooting will be dine in the forests in my area, with no power available.  So I need something mobile.  For what it's worth I'll be recording into my schools Sony prosumer camcorders, to possibly be switched to an iPod once the most recent version is unlocked for recording, so a mini jack output would be good.  Money is a limiting factor btw.

Any help will be appriciated.

the Denecke PS-2.  Don't know if it can be had w/ a mini output, but it's a great unit.  For about $250 ish, you can get a Edirol UA5, it's a pre w/ phantom all in one.
