Question About Audience Matrix Mixes
« on: January 28, 2014, 06:41:48 PM »
I have two (master) sources that I would like to do a "matrix mix" of and I'm having an issue with getting the recording to line up.  Both sources were recorded by me, so it's from the exact same location, however I recorded one in 24-Bit/44.1 and the other in 24-Bit/48.  Could this be causing me an issue?  I've done this several times before and have had zero issues, but this one show is causing me fits.  Any best practices out there?

Read that link Brian posted first.

You WILL have to convert both sources to either 24/44.1 or 24/48 (or whatever they just have to be the same).

I use sony Veags for mixing and it has the ability to mix sources with different bit/sample rates, stretch to match and render down to a 16/44.1 file.
I have even used Flac files for a quick patch with no issues.

I use Vegas as well, it a great way to go. Except I save mine in a 24/48 file which is what I record them use NCh switch converted to make separate 16/41 files, I just like to have both. Mixing sources like that is always a bummer because they never get quite right. That's why I just bought a recorder that could do multitrack.

So to answer the question, the link Brian posted will work, I've done it once or twice the first time was very tricky to figure out, but it gets better
