Title: clamp help
Post by: MakersMarc on March 04, 2018, 08:18:45 PM
How's this?

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/546356-REG/Manfrotto_035RL_035RL_Super_Clamp_with.html/?c3ch=Facebook&c3nid=6071127085127-6074520287727-6074520325527&utm_id=5967d347b5fbbc65216e79e5

I rarely need one but hate using gaffer to tape mount to balcony 2" wide, would greatly appreciate suggestions. Thanks!

That is the standard! Check eBay for a better price.

Superclamps are excellent. I've ended up using this more I'd say

These are pretty good too

seconded on the Windtech, although there's got to be one out there for $15-17.99? Maybe I'm just old   hehe
I just bought that same Manfrotto super clamp but have yet to use it.
One difference is the Windtech uses 5/8 mic mount, and Manfrotto is a 3/8'|1/4-20 reversible.
Manfrotto also offers a short stud- https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/546376-REG/Manfrotto_037_037_Reversible_Short_Stud.html/pageID/accessory

Pipe, like a handrail?
Lumber?
What are you going to clamp to?
With the Superclamp, they make a wedge insert that makes it more functional for mounting to tables, or, other dimensional lumber.

Balcony bar about 2" thick. Literally the only venue I'll need it for

Yes, go with the super clamp for a round bar that size. I also use it in other situations, but would be my go to in the situation you describe.
