Isolate music "backtrack" in an interview
« on: May 16, 2015, 04:39:45 PM »
Anyone had any experience doing this?  I've got an interview, ripped from its original (sadly analog [cassette]) media that contains an unreleased song playing behind the interview.

Obviously, the quality isn't going to be great, but I wondered if anyone had experience with isolating the "interview" and lowering it in the mix so the song in the background could be heard a bit more clearly.

iZotope seems like the likely choice for this, but I'm not all that well versed yet.  Anyone have any tips?

Can post the track in 24/96 FLAC as well, if anyone wants to take a crack at it.  It's short, just 2min 49sec.
