I've never run one, but don't overthink it.  Connect it all up, toggle the switch, check for levels, and that's about it.  Not much to it.  Sweet box!  Good luck!

Other than the on/off toggle, unplug the mics after each show.  If you leave them plugged in, it will continue to drain the batteries.

I did a test last spring and stopped after 2.5 days.

I did a test this weekend using the Powerex MHR9VI Imedion 9.6V 230mAh rechargeables that I normally use. I started everything at 6am on Friday morning and stopped last night at 60hrs. The batteries in the M10 were changed 3 times but the nbox was still rolling. The wav files from Sunday didn't look any different than the wav files from Friday. I don't think I would ever intentionally record with the same batteries for 2.5 days but it is nice to know you can.

I do not believe the mikes being plugged in will drain the battery in my experience

I confirm 40 hours plus.

I hear ya. I look like a complete tool in a kangol, but I couldn't give a shit less knowing that I'm pulling *heat* from deep in the "impact zone"...

Congrats on your new purchase, BTW. You are going to love it. Only way I'll ever get rid of mine is if A) Hell freezes over or B) Nicky ever figures out a way to make it radically smaller...

9V

I thought I read somewhere it also drains "the other" batteries as well... But point being- disconnecting the n-box cables from the box itself between shows is a good practice...

Pretty sure it also depletes the internal batteries that supply 60V

What do you mean by the 9v or "Other Ones" ??? I thought every NBox ever made needed 9v batteries? At least internally, correct? I wasn't aware that any NBox's were available that had external power ???

There are internal batteries that are not user replaceable and provide the 60V polarization. These should last 5 years or so I think. These are totally different than the 3 or 4 9V batteries that have to be swapped out every show.

Might be an easy question...do you remove the 9V batteries after each show? I had the first outing with mine and wonder what to do....if so ...shall the batteries be placed in the same spot in the Nbox....because than I have to mark the batteries to assure I place them correctly...

The batteries just kind of slide in, I use a piece of bubble wrap to avoid rattling when  >:D. And I remove after each show.

Do you leave the screws in or did you tape the lid shut? Seems like a lot to do the screws after each show/before show.

Gaffer's tape for me.  Lost the screws a while back.

I leave the batteries in, have some Saran Wrap to keep the batteries from rattling and possibly coming loose and use black gaffers tape to seal the unit.  I have those screws somewhere I think.

I switch out the batteries every couple months for shits and grins.
