Stand Alone Phonograph Amp

(1/3) > >>

gormenghast:
Can someone reccommend a stand-alone phono amp?   Something cheap for my 18yo who has a small stereo but no phono input.  I have the turntable.  It has basic rca plugs and a ground wire—an old Sansui so no integrated amp.  This is for really basic intro to listening to records.

I have my set up but prefer not to spend a lot of money and duplicate it in case this is just a fad.

I have heard good things about u-turn Audio's turntables for the price. They make a an inexpensive phono pre also. No actual personal experience though, just what I have heard.

I have a Pyle PP999 that I use for my old Technics turntable.  $22 on Amazon. It's basic, no frills but it works just fine.

I bought my daughter an Audio Technica AT-LP60 and resurrected an old pair of Bose computer speakers and she loves it. She’s up to about 30 LPs and no end in sight.

Here's a list of 15 phono amps under $100 that may help in your search.  Don't forget to also check eBay.
