xlr > rca adapter
« on: March 31, 2005, 07:18:42 PM »
so i am getting ready to break in my new mics, but i need to find a way to get from the at8531 power modules to my jb3.  i thought all i would need was a xlrf > rca f adapter for each power module but i could not find one at the local radio shack.

i searched the archives and online and found that there are a couple of different types (wired / unwired). which one do i need? i found them for around 7-10 each.

if i get the 2 xlrf>rcaf adapters do i need anything else (attenuators or transformers?) before i can run the battery powered mics into the jb3?  right now i have a rca m (2) > 3.5 stereo mini.  i would think that i all i need is adapters since i am just going to be running battery powered mics with this set up.

or should i just buy another cord (ugh) that has 2 xlr f > 3.5 stereo mini?

eventually (and maybe sooner than later!!) i want to make a battery box that has the at853a's connectors (TA3F - mini xlr) going into the box and juicing them with 9-18v and then have rca f out, which will be picked up by the rca > 3.5 mm y into the jb3

anyone got some ideas?  thanks for helping a n00b out!
