help needed, which rig?
« on: March 13, 2006, 12:01:19 PM »
Hi,

I know this may be a difficult guess, but which of the following two rigs would you say is best to record natural, low level sounds? I'm asking because the sensitive Sennheiser is a considerably cheaper purchase than the FP24 preamp (and own the other stuff). Both mics have similar equivalent noise, so...??

- Sehnn ME64(31 mV sensitivity)>iRiver H120 (24 dB analog gain)

- Rode NT4 (12 mV)>Shure FP24 (60 dB analog gain)>iRiver H120 (24 dB gain)

Would appreciate any suggestion

cheers
