finally-I think I fixed my opti in problem
« on: April 22, 2006, 02:27:36 AM »
Won't go into too many details, but I've had issues with optical in on jb3.  Solder joints ok, etc.

What was happening was that the opti in jack would move slightly, causing a misalignment between the opti cable and the opti receptor inside the jack.  The solution?  Super glue.  Good old cyanoacrylate.  I used the gel type glue, and got a fair amount on the far side of the jack to where it connects on the green PWB (avoiding any solder joints).  So far it all seems good!  The real test will be of time, to see if it holds up in real recording situations.  I will just baby the heck out of it and hope it sticks.
