Title: Non-OEM AC Adapter for MixPre-D ?
Post by: csmsss on June 13, 2012, 11:36:54 AM
I have just bought a MixPre-D for use in my video recording rig, and while I love the features and performance, I am less than thrilled with the high cost of the OEM accessories like the tripod mount and the AC adapter.  Has anyone rigged up a third party AC adapter with the 4-pin Hirose connection for their MixPre or MixPre-D?  Any and all feedback would be quite welcome.

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you use a comparable AC Adapter and wire it according to convention: Pin 1 neg (-) & Pin 4 pos (+).

You'll need good eyes, it can be difficult to read the pin numbers on the 4 pin hirose connectors, they're on the pricey side too but you can certainly DIY for less $$$.

Thanks, DigiGal!  That's as I suspected.  My soldering skills are not the best, but I'll take a whack at it.
