adapter questions

which adapter would you guys recommend for a light stand that i recently purchased from ebay, im pretty sure the headstock is 1/4''.

as far as im concerned, there are 2 pretty good options for buying an adapter - opinions on which is better or any other DIY options i might have??

I prefer #2...and I think it's called "quarter twenty" - 1/4 inch - 20 threads per inch...

I actually prefer the second adapter attached to the quick disconnect mount of the first adapter for more threads to mate with the stereo mount and the ability quick connect.  I hate threading anything in the field.  There is always the risk of getting crap in the threads or stripping them because you got there late and are rushing to set up.     
The first rule of amateur neurosurgery club is .... I forget.
