DA-P1 draw?
« on: March 21, 2003, 07:34:05 PM »
I can't seem to find this anywhere. Does anyone know what the current draw is for a DA-P1 being run off of 6v's?

Watts / Voltage = Current

According to the DAP1 specs, power consumption is 13 Watts.  At 6v, you're looking at:

13W / 6V = 2.16 amps

That seems awfully[/] high to me - is the DAP1 really that big of a juice hog?!? - so maybe the 13W spec I found is wrong?  Hopefully someone with an actual DAP1 can help.

Thanks Brian, I was actually trying to figure out how long I could run a P1 and MMe off of a 6v 7.2ah battery by using the formulas on your site.

Yikes! Looks like I'll be running a battery for both... damn I like only carrying one battery

Definitely seperate 6v's. I was being brave at the Greensboro Phish show and tried to see if I could run both my p1 and MME off the same 6v/7.2 ecocharge. It lasted all the way up until the last few minutes of the encore, with the p1's light on, before it died (how ever long that was). I'm positive it would of made it through the entire show if the light was off but that would of been about it. Hope this helps.

+T for you both, that info helps alot. I think 2x6v is still lighter than 1x12v  ;D
