Title: .oma file to wav?
Post by: time is watchin the show on August 20, 2007, 11:57:28 PM
I have a file that is a .oma file. Is there a way to convert it to a wav file?

I was able to convert it to a cda file. Is that the same quality as wav? CD Wave editor doesn't work with a .cda. Is there another program that I can use to track it out. Really what I am hoping for is a way to convert the .oma to wav.

Thanks, in advance, for any time anyone can spend helping me on this!

This is my situation- I sent the file to Sonic Stage, it stored it as an .oma, but it could not convert it to wave (not enough storage). So, I tried to resend it to SS & the file on my disc was then deleted. So now the only form I have of this is .oma.

Anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks.

I know that oma (German for Grandma) is the intermediate stage between the PCM and the WAV.  Why not contact the folks at minidisc.org where there are some propeller heads who might be able to help you.  They are quite helpful there.

Cheers

If you already have it transfered into SS, just find the file in SS, right click, and click on "save in wav format".  That should do it!  Kinda scary to see it disappear from your disc though... eh!
