Weird DR701-D issue
« on: July 22, 2019, 05:10:36 PM »
Bought a DR701-D in the yard sale recently. The first few outings have be great, but then I started have a weird intermittent issue where I hit record, the record light comes on, but the counter doesn't count. It is recording, but I don't like it. The next time it may work fine. Or not.

Any ideas?

My memory is there are several different readout settings, maybe you toggled to a different one unknowingly?  I think I recall that happening to me.

I had that happen to me one time, and it caused me to re-boot and upon doing so the problem was gone, and I later found out everything was recording just fine. No damage done and has not happened again, but the same symptoms you mentioned. I have used the deck for maybe 2 years prior without any issue. That said I tend to use this deck primarily  low pro ( >:D ) at one particular venue, so it could have happened more than once and I just did not notice.

Thanks everyone. Didn't even think about checking the firmware
