Title: Neumann SG-289 low pro stand mounts
Post by: waltmon on July 18, 2019, 05:31:20 PM
Will these fit all revisions of the U89 LD microphone...? Mine came with these older style mounts that make it difficult to access the XLR cable plug in...cable must be twisted to unplug cable from mic...

There have been no significant revisions of the U 89 since it was introduced. I owned a pair of them for a little while but don't recall a problem like the one that you're having.

If I remember correctly, it might be possible to insert the U 89 into this stand adapter from either side. Is that the case with yours, and if so, does using it "the other way around" avoid the problem?

Hmm...I didn't know that. I will try that as soon as they are sent back to me. Tom O is getting them all tightened up for me...thank you.

Tom Onofrio is an excellent technician and a real "straight shooter"--not just his business ethics, but his common sense as well. You're in good hands.

He did a great job on my 150s...cleaning and ended up doing some re-soldering. Sound as new.
