Are there any devices that would allow one to plug an XLR cable into a soundboard and use the 48V DC to power thier rig?

Obviously the voltage would have to be regulated and divided...

And - certainly - not every soundman would let you use such a thing...

But - does anything like this exist?

Might be a handy way to power a rig...( I can see some drawbacks...)

It would seem easier at that point to just grab AC power.

Seriously though -- no.  Condensor mics draw about 2-4ma of current, high draw mics like Earthworks draw 10ma.  In contrast, the V3 draws something like 850ma.  Phantom power circuitry simply isn't designed to provide nearly enough current for this to be a workable solution.
