That on/off switch makes me nervous - seems like it could accidentally get flipped during use.  I'm not sure why an on/off switch is needed (?) but I'd probably permanently switch mine to on with some gaffer's tape if I had this battery.

tekkeon has an on/off switch as well. I think it's for the voltage regulator mechanism.

One thing I would say is please use Caution.. When using gear like this.. Most of this gear has never been CSA or UL  tested and could have serious safety issues.. I am not saying this battery system does but when you think of a rechargeable battery think of a device that while charging or even while in storage.. CAN cause a fire. Again its always best to look for things that have been tested by an independent lab for safety before buying any product with high amp batteries

One other thing to point out is that this unit will have a switching dc-dc convertor built in to achive 5V and 9V (evident by the increasing mAh rating with decreasing voltage) and due to the low price will probably be designed pretty cheaply.  So in other words I would expect these to be noisy.

Anyone got any feedback on these batteries?  Have they proven reliable? I'm wondering about using this with a dr-680 and if any of the included tips will work with it.

Thanks

Kicking this back to the top.  Battery is  $32.00 plus $10 shipping.  With a usb powered device looming and looking for a 12 volt powering option too I was wondering if there is anyone who has tried these that can give feed back yet?

OR

What 12 volt option, hopefully Li-ion do y'all recommend?  With out breaking the bank, IE: not that bubba bad ass go for days battery ;D  I only need it to run 5-6 hours at a time.

Thanx, Kirk

I don't have personal experience, but if you look through the ebay feedback, people are reporting positive feedback for this battery and vendor.  For the price, I don't think I'd personally have a problem giving this battery a shot.  Once received, I'd cycle it a couple of times to make sure it doesn't have the issues that others have mentioned in this thread...which is a good practice regardless of how well known the battery vendor is.

Otherwise, if cost and lead time are prime concerns, an option that I always consider available to me is my local BatteriesPlus, which has a wide range of 12V SLA batteries to choose from in the <$30 range (although a charging unit is another $25 or so).  Yeah, lead is heavy but not so much the smaller ones.
