I bought an Edirol R-09 off of the Yard Sale (thanks Greg!) and it's on its way to schoepsnbox to have the jack modded. In the meantime, I want to pick up a couple of flash media cards for it.
I read on Nicks Picks that the Marantz 660 wouldn't read certain brands of flash media cards. Has anyone experienced this with the R-09?
The R-09 FAQ indicates that the latest firmware will allow it to work with 8 Gig flash cards. Has anyone experience any problems having it work with cards all the way up to 8 Gig?
Thanks
Steve

Just so there's no confusion - the R09 doesn't use Compact Flash media, but SD (Secure Digital) Cards.
I never used anything larger than a 4GB, FWIW.

I've used 2 GB SanDisk cards and this 4 GB Transcend without any problems

As you can read in this forum the edirol has problems with certain 8 GB SDHC cards.
So till the new firmware do not use 8 GB cards.
4 GB SDHC have reported good results. I am switching back to 4 GB after i got file corruption problems with a Transcend 8 GB SDHC 2 card

Here is the official statement by Roland :
We will be testing the 8 GB cards shortly. Currently 1.20 supports up to 4GB SDHC.

TITLE: Compatible SD Card Sizes
Beginning with operating system 1.20, SDHC class 2 cards up to 4GB are compatible.
For cards under 2 GB you will still need to use standard SD cards and not the SDHC class 2 cards.
