120m DATs?
« on: February 26, 2004, 11:14:34 AM »
My friend gave me a few Maxell HS/120's  and i used one to record about 40minutes of spoken word on my D8 and everything worked fine for that...i transferred to my comp through my home deck (Sony A8) and it went fine as well......would it be considered a roll of the bones to continue using 120m tapes for either my A8 or D8 in the future..i'd imagine the tape is really thin.....anyone?  thanks.

I used to keep one way in the bottom of my bag as a spare emergency DAT. Used it a few times with no repercussions but I wouldn't use them frequently. Audio decks just aren't calibrated for them and you're more liable to snap one...
