I've got a couple of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Cigar-Caddy-Waterproof-Travel-Humidor/dp/B0007VU67O
one I drilled the ends out and keep my VM44 bodies in with a short pair of XLR's plugged into and then can use the active cable /collettes  while the bodies and connectors are protected.

That's exactly what I did with my old MBHO 603a bodies/actives/XLRs! Worked great and kept my MBHO bodies and stuff in tip top shape ;D
Schoeps MK 4V & MK 41V ->
Schoeps 250|0 KCY's (x2) ->
Naiant +60v|Low Noise PFA's (x2) ->
DarkTrain Right Angle Stubby XLR's (x3) ->
Sound Devices MixPre-6 & MixPre-3

I seem to remember reading somewhere that cigar cases are not really good for keeping mics in because they are designed to prevent the cigars from drying out (? I don't smoke, what do I know.... But they are called "humidor"?). The upshot that I remember is that a case that breathes is better.

Of course the difference might be in short term transportation to and from a gig and long term storage at home.

Can someone clarify this for me?

Regards, C.

One of the German resellers of the Cigar Caddy / Passatore / S3 case states this humidor was "completely neutral" (without using the separately available Spanish cedar plank / veneer).

That said, I keep my mics in their original cases and use these Cigar Caddy cases on location only.
