Does anyone know of an adapter that allows the use of a standard mic stand to mount recorders that are threaded for camera tripods?

Check micsupply, or b&h for adapters. You'll need to know if your standard mic stand has European 3/8-16 or US 5/8-27 threads to get the proper one to convert it to camera threads 1/4-20.

If your light stand has 3/8 European threading then this is what you want.

If it has US 5/8 threading then you want to go from 5/8 to 3/8 and then use the one above.
