sony ac adapter hacking question
« on: April 14, 2004, 10:24:04 AM »
i am currently using an sbm-1 and a d8 for taping. i have a dual cable that i got with a couple oade 6volts 3amp hr batteries that i got a while back.

the cable has the dual mini-jacks that plug into the sbm-1 and the d8 to power them using the 6volt. the other side of the dual cable has mini xlr plug that oade uses on his batteries.

i have since bought a new 6volt from home depot (7amp hr for $16) and stripped the connectors from one of the now dead oade batteries to use on the new battery. all is well for field recording.

my dilema is i only have one ac adapter (wall wart) and i would like to use it to power both the sbm-1 and the d8 for times when i can use ac power.

can i hack the ac adapter, and add the other oade mini xlr coupler to it and use it to power both units? or will there not be enough power for both.

sorry if i am not explaining this correctly....any help would be appreciated.

A live concert to me is exciting because of all the electricity that is generated in the crowd and on stage. It's my favorite part of the business, live concerts.
