Neumann service center (actually Sennheiser) experience
« on: August 26, 2017, 12:40:28 PM »
I just grabbed a very clean pair of KM-150's...I want to send in for clean/inspect/test/repair as needed. Obviously the service charge would vary based on what was done, parts etc...but they have a pre-authorized charge up to 500.00 per mic...was curious a ballpark estimate as to what this would cost please.

Thanks

Neumann USA has no acoustic measurement or test facility. They can check the electronics of your microphones and make any needed repairs, but they only test capsules in the most general way, and don't repair or restore them; if something is wrong they replace the capsules and charge you for new ones.

In Berlin they can actually test capsules--they have a measurement chamber there (I have been in it!). However, again they don't generally repair capsules if replacements are available.

music > microphones > a recorder of some sort
