M1 > D-50 Cable?
« on: March 15, 2008, 02:47:36 PM »
I am trying transfer DAT's from my M1 to my new D-50.  Photo is attached. Is there a cable that exists that is S/PDIF (Male RCA type connection) > Digitial Optical?

I was thinking this doesn't exist and what I really need is this for the transfers:

Correct?
Busman Audio BSC1-K1/K2/K3/K4 > HiHo Silver XLR's > Deck TBD

CA-14 (c,o)/MM-HLSC-1 (4.7k mod)/AT853(4.7k mod)(c,o,h,sc)/CAFS (o)/CA-1 (o) > CA-9100 (V. 4.1)/CA-9200/CA-UBB > Sony PCM-D50/Sony PCM-M10

I'm unaware of any coax>optical cables, so yes, a digital format converter is what you'll need.

Besides the CO-2, the Hosa ODL-276 does the same job.

the co2 is not bit perfect, fwiw.
If you have to do it in realtime, and PC is the destination..., then just get a USB optical interface.

Or if you can find a 7-pin > optical cable, you'd be ready to roll tape that way too.

I bet if you ask around here, someone will have one gathering dust and would let you borrow it.

+T Shaggy. I wasn't aware of this cable.  Looks like it has been discontinued, so I'll have to look for a used one.

Yes that's what I'm talking about.  Check on Ebay as well, sometimes they pop up.
