Capturing 4 track audio from Canon XL1 to Final Cut Pro?
« on: December 07, 2009, 02:42:08 PM »
The other evening I used the four-track audio recording function on my XL1 for the first time.  I captured it to Final Cut Pro, expecting to automatically get four individual audio tracks, but that wasn't the case.  The manual doesn't mention audio output via firewire but it says for the analog out you can choose which pair of tracks to output, or you can output the audio already mixed.  This seems to (almost) defeat the purpose of having four tracks.  Does anybody know if there is a way to capture the four tracks to FCP simultaneously?  I guess I can capture it twice, once for each pair of audio tracks, but that's pretty time consuming (although in this case the set was under a half hour).
