None

Chrome doesn't do much, but what it does do is done only their way.
Sort of an iPad with a keyboard and a similar attitude.
Great toy for the kids...        ::)

Get an "discarded" PC and install Mint OS or Ubuntu
You'll be surprised what it can do

OP,

Chromebook is built off of Linux. You won't be able to run anything Micro$oft-based.

Unlike a true Linux-based OS, Chromebook OS is very limited in what it is capable of doing compared to a PC running either Windoesn't or a true Linux system.

R8Brain free version (stand-alone) works well in Wine (a Windows emulator) under Linux, albeit really slow, as it does in Windows OS.

SoX does an equally good job at resampling and dithering, IME and is much, much faster. Only draw-back is you have to learn the command-line-interface, which involves a lot of typing compared to a GUI...

Chrome is more different than even Mac OS is to Unix in that permissions and storage come from cloud servers on offshore facilities staffed by intergalactic aliens.  Some speech Franch.    8)

Seriously, the storage and bandwidth issues alone make a standard Chrome OS configuration less than optimal.

I played with chrome OS a few years back and IMO it is complete garbage beyond serving as a web based terminal

Reminds me of the failed java/web terminals of the late 1990's

Chrome OS = vaporware

Depending on the chromebook you may be able to install Ubuntu overtop chrome os

You might try to make a LiveCD or LiveUSB stick of Linux Mint - or one of the Multimedia/Studio based Linux distros.

Programs might take a bit longer to start/load - but should run fine once loaded.

^^^  Oh, yeah, I nearly forgot....  you can alternate boot a Chrome OS box to Linux, etc.

If you don't find what you need on a Chromies forum, hit me up, I have done it and can share my notes.
