What to do now?
« on: September 04, 2016, 01:27:35 PM »
Yesterday I attended a University of Florida football game at Bright house Stadium in Orlando.  They have a new policy, as well as the Camping World Stadium, that ONLY clear bags will be allowed in both venues NO small knap-sacks, purses, camera bags - ONLY clear bags.  Since these are the only venues that handle any outdoor concerts in the area, G n R played there in June - does any one have suggestions of how a Sony PCM-10 plus CA-11 mics plus an Ugly battery box can be "hidden" to bring in these venues?

I feel this could be the future of even indoor venues?

Has anyone dealt with these policies recently?

Any feedback is welcomed.

Thanks

OK, Noah since you broke the ice in this thread I'll add that you can buy spandex type shorts at an athletic store that have a pocket in front of your walnuts.  The pocket is designed for a hard shell cup...not the drinking kind.  If one happens to determine that they don't need to protect the chicklets at a show, they could substitute other stuff in that front pocket if there was a reason to.

If you can't figure out how to get your gear in the door you shouldn't even bother with trying to stealth tape.

If they institute a strip search policy, you have reason to be concerned.  Otherwise, when the metal detector goes off, just shrug your shoulders and look somewhat bewildered.  If you still get held up, start taking off your pants (but don't actually drop your undies) right there in front of everyone.  Trust me, you will quickly be told that it's OK to proceed into the venue.

or befriend someone on the inside, i.e. beer vendors, merch vendors.  if you want it bad enough, you will make it happen.
