I say this is snake oil. $2K to get all the electrons in the cable to go through the very center of the conductive path instead of spread equally through the conductor?

To each his own though. When I was making silver mic cables people said they were way overpriced. I still use silver coated copper mil spec cables for most things but if you use good quality, shielded, balanced cables at just about any price you should be good to go. I still use el cheapo Hosa stereo 1/4 inch balanced cables in my playback system. Sounds pretty good to me.

Wow, I hadn't really looked at that site before.  There sure seems to be a LOT of snake oil there.  These were two of my favorites…

I found the wall outlet to be particularly funny with this picture which does not look like it would allow them to "apply a two million volt signal to each individual unit, at a specific pulse modulation and an ultra high frequency, for an exact duration of time, transforming the outlet at the molecular level. I find that in the absence of having $2000 and a burning desire to know the difference, that my speaker cables do just fine.

I hope you plugged it into a wall receptacle for 31 hours 41 min 59 sec for proper pi electron conditioning before cutting off the ends.  It really brings things full circle.

I had some of those DIY Home Depot cables for a while.  Sounded fine.  I gave them away to a friend when I bought some fancy TS DIY cables...

$1300 for XLR cables??  Pshaw, a mere pittance!  You need to invest in these $13,000 AudioQuest cables. ;D  Discontinued, but some of the reviews and Q&A section are pure gold. >

This is a classic: http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/threads/speakers-when-is-good-enough-enough.2512/page-2#post-15412 (comparing Monster Cable to coat hangers)

Highlight:
Quote
After 5 tests, none could determine which was the Monster 1000 cable or the coat hanger wire. Further, when music was played through the coat hanger wire, we were asked if what we heard sounded good to us. All agreed that what was heard sounded excellent, however, when A-B tests occured, it was impossible to determine which sounded best the majority of the time and which wire was in use.
