Stream from YouTube toslink to: Minidisc or NETMD? better option?

Hello,
From YouTube want to record audio concerts via digital to MiniDisc, so, 2 options:

1. YouTube>midiman CO3>MD optical IN (real time transfer)
2. YouTube>downloaded audio to PC >NETMD (drag drop)

Both are the same thing regarding "quality"? I mean, digital transfer, by using option 2 lots of saved time.
