importing from DV into iMovie
« on: August 04, 2007, 12:29:38 PM »
Got a newbie question...

We borrowed a mini DV camcorder on a recent trip and I would like to edit the result into a movie in iMovie on an iMac.

The problem is that I know nothing about this. I don't have a manual or any cables for the camcorder.

The camera has a DV port on it. I was wondering if I get a firewire cable whether or not that is what I need. It also has USB and a socket called AV.  The model is a JVC GR-D270U

Any advice for a beginner? iMovie looks pretty easy to use, I just need some advice on the cabling.

a firewire cable will do the trick. It will recognize it automatically. at least it should.
ISO: your recordings of The Slip, Surprise Me Mr. Davis and The Barr Brothers. pm me please.
