Topic: static free cloth

I have 3 pairs of caps(microtech gefell) I have original boxes for one set of caps and the large one for bodies.
I use a small jewel case to carry a set of caps, smaller foot print in bag.
Should I line the box with static free cloth, or is that unnecessary?
replacing box, my bag got stolen at Bijou Theatre last weds, I moved seats and figure (basically empty couple of cables, the box, nothing that was expensive to replace) bag would be fine, nope.....
