Is the 1/8" line out signal reduced by 6dB compared to the XLRs? Any other sonic differences?

I'm interested in this as well...is it better to go XLR>1/8th or just 1/8th > 1/8th?  Certainly a mini plug is easier for stealthing but if the recorder can handle a hotter signal does that mean you should give it one? I'm planning on using one with a m-10 and am going to stick with the miniplug off the lemosax.

not sure on exact specs, however with my experience owning a sxm2 & lemo version the 1/8th vs xlr is like line level vs tape level (roughly -10db) i always prefer xlr because the lock into place so they won't pop out or turn in the jack when the cable is moved possibly creating noise, a nice streamline custom cable cam always be made
