I need a ac power adapter for my D8. Its 6VDC, but I don't know the amperage it takes. Can I just pick up an adapter from radioshack(6VDC/300mA (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F009%5F001%5F001%5F001&product%5Fid=273%2D1758), 6VDC/800mA (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F009%5F001%5F001%5F001&product%5Fid=273%2D1761), 6VDC/1800mA (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F009%5F001%5F001%5F001&product%5Fid=273%2D1763)), or will it explode if I don't ues the offical power supply? ;)

the problem is Sony uses a bizarre sized plug so it's hard to find a proper fit.
what I have done in the past is go buy a cheap Sony discman or walkman etc. that is also 6v's and used the ac adapter that is included in the package...

600mA or greater will work fine.

I have a discman power adapter, but its only 4.5V. The plug fits very well into the D8, so I'll take it along with me and pick up the proper size at the shack.
600mA or greater will work fine.
Thanks
