Title: Quick Littlebox question re: plug-in power
Post by: acidjack on October 09, 2010, 11:14:27 AM
My littlebox has a minijack on the front for plug-in power.  It also has switchable P48 and (I think) P24 (but it might be P12).

I had Jon build in the minijack so I could run my DPA 4061s, which are the chopped Coresound version.  I have a homemade cap that allows them to not use the CS battery box if you hook it up to another 9v power source.

I'm just trying to confirm that the plug-in power is 9v so I don't blow the mics up.  I'm also curious whether it matters whether my switch up top is set to P48 or P24....

Anyone with a similar setup know?

almost 100% positive that only 9v goes to the miniplug, thats the way mine was, doesn't matter what the phantom was, they aren't "connected"

I don't think phantom power can be delivered through the minijack at all so I think it would be 9volt. I have the same setup (or very similar) to you and when I plug in my at4041s and engage the toggle switch for the mini jack, nothing happens; however when I switch on the 12volt (low) or 48 volt (high), the mics light up and are able to then record.

yours also has xlr inputs, right?

Thx all for the very quick replies.  Recording a backyard show tomorrow using the 4061s as lapel mics for one set and then in the middle of the band for the second.  Should be something to see!
