If money were no question, what laptop, mics, soundcard, cables, and software would you choose?

Laptop- new sony vaio picturebook
No soundcard, but rather the Nuendo Multiset/PC Card as well
Put a sonosax out in front of it
Software- either Nuendo full or Wavelab (either are good)
Cables- Audio Magic Sorceror (or excallibur II, I cant hear a difference in the 2)
Mics- Neumann TLM 170's

Sony Picturebook
DPA 4022 > MP-2 > MME
Wavelab
Excallibur II cables
So, alot like Scott browns setup, but with the Picturebook

id say dpa 4022>MP2>excalbur 2s>mme>spidif>metric halo I/O>mac G4 powerbook> Digital performer 3
you can also feed the mac with other 3 other stereo sources with the metric halo such as a soundboard feed or another set of mics/pre
this might be scott brows setup not sure but ive hread theses tapes before and they smoke anythign around

The MIO is definitely a solid box. I know of at least two guys who run them. If multitrack is your game (not mine), this is a serious option to consider.

Here you go Jonny:
http://www.mhlabs.com/index2.html
. Click on the products link on the sidebar. Then follow the link to the mobile I/O. Check out the overview.
On a side note, anybody know anything about/use any of Metric Halo's software? I know MMW uses at least one MIO and they run spectra-foo.
Congrats on 250! I'll be there soon
