Hosa ODL-312
« on: June 24, 2004, 09:04:15 PM »
Well, with the sale of my D8, looks like I'm finally gonna go the JB3 route. I do have a few questions though...

My 1st purchase was the Hosa ODL-312 to convert AES>Optical...then I started thinking, how the hell is this thing powered? Internal batteries? Some werd Wall Wart hack?

Anybody that can give me the basic lowdown will be much appreciated...

nick - if you're going the v3 route you might be better off getting the optical out modification instead of the hosa converter.  it'd be one less thing to worry about.

I run mine off of a 9volt RC car battery from Radio Shack. Here is a thread about it; http://www.taperssection.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=14286.0

I and a few others are using the 9 volt Li-Ion from walmart.....basically you need an external 9v DC supply.
