Title: Battery Adapter for DR-680
Post by: Jrgidez on February 05, 2014, 02:31:35 PM
I've been poking around looking for a suitable extended battery setup to power my DR-680 and found this forum. Lots of great info!

Does anyone have any experience with this 12v sled adapter for Sony NP batteries?

I found this one pictured here on the web on another site and ordered it. When it arrived, the sender was yet a different vendor whose site has it for almost half the price at $30 plus s/h. Anyway, as shipped, the plug is the correct polarity and size (at least it fits snugly without forcing) and the NP-930 battery provides 12.13v output. Since I have NPs for my video gear, I don't have to get yet another battery.

The sled has "LCD4Video" on the bottom and is designed for a small LCD monitor.

So if I understand correctly, this adapter steps the 7v battery up to 12 volts?

Yes it steps up the voltage. Tomorrow I will run a test with a fully charged np-970 to see how long it will run the recorder with phantom on three channels
