Took it out for it's first run on Sat. at Bryan Adams from 22nd row center outdoor amp 4023 > D10. My only observations so far are :

1. Like the A10, it's nice to stealth without ever having to take the recorder out because you can stop/start and monitor with bluetooth and the iphone.

2. However, the A10 lets you adjust levels on the iphone app, the D10 doesn't. For this I could still easily find the level knobs on the deck under my shirt.

3. When you engage the hold button, the backlight turns on. I didn't notice this until after the show ended, luckily none of my neighbors saw this (or maybe they didn't point it out to me).

4. Running on 4 AA Maha 2700 Nimhs. After 2 hours running 48V phantom it was still at full bars.

I'll have a sample up later today.

The key complaint I've heard about the D10 is that there can be noticeable self-noise. With a concert I don't think it would be noticeable. I wonder if you notice self-noise just with spoken word recordings? The folks who have complained have been recording ambient sounds where, understandably, you want everything with the recording process to be very quiet. I'd mainly use for spoken voice and softer music. On the fence about this device. But I like the XLR connectors.

I originally was gonna skip this show due to the obscene ticket price. However when the D10 arrived on Friday, I was motivated to give it it's first run. It also helped that there were all sorts of thunderstorms all day which brought the stubhub price down to something more managable.

Tickets prices are crazy right now, and I am waiting for stubhub for a bunch of shows, or I just wont bother... not sure how we got to 200 a ticket for so many shows that were less than 100 a year or 2 ago

There's a setting that lets you determine how long before the light goes off or to stay on all the time. I had it set to 1 min so my assumption was that it would shut off after I hit hold and waited a minute, but that didn't happen.

Still need to play with it.

Sounds great. Lots of bass. Thanks!

Anyone used the usbc for external power?

Played around with my 10,000mah Anker PowerCore phone supply (USB-A to USB-C cord)
That's about 5x the capacity of the AAs
It did not move the led from full after an evening of recording, birds, air, water, traffic.
I'm pretty sure it could do two days of festival with P48 @ 24/88.2

I need a really loud show to see how mics & pre in D10 behaves
It's transparent and linear on ambience.

Thanks! Back in stock at a bad time.  I'll have to wait until fall to buy one.
