Title: Mini (3-pin) XLR to 1/8" TRS ?
Post by: ArchivalAudio on September 11, 2010, 01:55:46 AM
So I am contemplating making a mini XLR (3pin) or 4pin if that would work better?
basically I want to go to a 1/8" TRS (stereo min plug)
I believe this should be just like making a standard XLR to 1/4 TRS - except the desire is it would be for a normal mini plug stereo jack (PMP/Walkamn headphone jack)

so can some one refresh me
T R S which would be Left Right and common
then which would correspond to the mini XLR pin assignments?
essentially it would be like an RCA (L & R) to stereo mini plug, except I'd replace the two RCA plugs with one 3 or 4 pin mini xlr!

I am sure it would be the same as a normal XLR to TRS but want to be sure

any pointers?

thanx

It would be the same as a normal xlr > trs.  What are you using it for?

Thanx Ted,
hypothetically  out of a little box - into a sonyM-10
so I can hot melt glue in the 1/8" min stereo plug into the M-10 and have a locking connecter in to it.
likely 2 RCA L+ R to Mini XLR  that I would make

would it make a difference otherwise?

If it's for a littlebox, Jon would be the right man to tell you about the pin config. Shoot him a PM.
